Current to "Hänsel and Gretel"

The world premiere of Hänsel and Gretel - The Musical took place on 15th of November 2014 in Bottrop. Since then, it has been performed several times and presented on various public occasions with excerpts. Currently no further performances are planned.

A fairytale retold.

Many fairytales and legends have reached people in the course of history, but hardly anything is as well known as that of Hansel and Gretel. Now, the old story shall shine in new splendor as a musical on the stage.

Deep in the forest lives a woman with her children Hansel and Gretel. Some years ago, the family's father died and the mother struggles to feed the children. The children also feel the need and decide to sneak off secretly into the forest at night, to discover an old legend of a lost treasure. But they never would have expect what they find there...

The project

The project is about the tale of Hansel and Gretel, which is being re-staged in a musical version for the whole family. The piece is freely written according to the stories of the Brothers Grimm and provided with specially composed music and songs.
The musical is to revive the classic fairy tale, where nothing is lost from the old charm. Children and adults are to be enchanted when entering the theater in a fairytale world that makes you forget everyday life.
